  1. In May 1934 she set a women’s record in her solo flight from England to Australia in 14 days, 23 hours, and 25 minutes.
  2. In April 1935 she became the first woman to fly solo from Australia to England
  3.  In November 1935 she became the first woman to make a solo flight from England to Argentina.

  • Jean Batten won a harmon Trophy
  • Jean Batten flew with the most famous Australian pioneer aviator  Charles Kingsford Smith.

Good morning Learning space one. Jean Batten is special to New Zealand because she’s from New Zealand. Jean Batten is a famous Aviator. She broke and set many records.

Jean batten flew solo from England to Australia. She beat Amy Johnson’s record over 4 days. Jean Batten won a Harmon Trophy.

Jean Batten flew from England to Brazil and set another world record. Jean Batten got honored and got another Harmon Trophy.

Jean Batten set another world record for flying solo from England to New Zealand. Jean Batten was given the chief’s feather cloak and got another Harmon Trophy.
